Friends Place Respite Care

About

Friends Place Respite Program is a new ministry of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) launching in November of 2024 that will serve Madisonville & Hopkins County. Friends Place works to meet the social and emotional needs of older adults and their caregivers. It provides activities and socialization opportunities outside the home in a safe and caring setting for older adults with mild to moderate memory loss and/or medical impairments. It provides their caregiver with emotional support and personal time away during the day in which to rest and address their own needs. It also helps people living with dementia to continue to lead joy-filled, meaningful lives. We are working with a national network called, Respite For All to bring this program to our area (www.respiteforall.org

"We provide purpose, meaning, and hope for our friends living with dementia."

Friends Place program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm and offers a wide variety of structured activities and socialization for older adults. The cost of the program is $40 per day and includes a catered lunch.

We'd love to stay connected with you as we prepare to launch Friends Place Respite Care in November of 2024. Consider signing up for our email newsletter so you can be the first to learn more about registration and our opening.
