Respite is a short period of rest or relief from something that may be difficult. Friends Place Respite care provides a consistent break for caregivers and their loved ones, who need support as they navigate challenging seasons of life.

Anyone who is living with mild to moderate memory loss. This is a social program, which means we do NOT provide medication or physical support. Participants need to be able to go to the bathroom without assistance to participate. 

As part of the enrollment process, eligible participants will meet with our Director and fill out paperwork to be enrolled. 

Friends Place is a social program to help people thrive while living with mild to moderate memory loss.  We do NOT provide medication or physical support. All activities and supplies are included in the cost of the program. We encourage participants to wear weather appropriate clothing and bring a light sweater or jacket if they are prone to getting cool. 

Friends Place program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm. You may enroll for individual days, for the week or for the month. Enrollment is dependent on the number of registrants, as we are committed to a safe environment we limit each day to 15 friends.

Yes! Friends Place is run by a Director and a team of volunteers. There is flexibility in volunteering. Some people can help every week while others may be only able to come as their schedule allows.  All of our volunteers will receive training and a background check as part of our commitment to safety.
